After an abundance of sell-outs, added dates, and venue upgrades, tonight Nessa Barrett kicks off her young forever Tour, the first-ever headlining jaunt from the 20-year-old pop star on the rise.  The trek begins with the first of two nights at the Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix, Arizona, and will have Barrett at Fillmore Philly next Thursday, March 2nd (It was originally scheduled for the TLA.)  The tour is in support of the artist’s first full-length, young forever, which dropped last Fall, courtesy of Warner Records.

Last week Nessa Barrett dropped her latest single (along with accompanying music video), “BANG BANG!” her first new music since her debut LP.  The ultra-sassy alt-pop track is delectable enough for any lover of angsty pop, but could also easily fit into an industrial dance party playlist.  “The song was written about my borderline personality rage…  There’s times where I just get so mad that I think about the craziest things I want to do in that moment, I feel like everyone deep down has intrusive thoughts even though they don’t want to admit it,” Barrett has said of the track.

Nessa Barrett has more than a billion audio streams to date, and last year she earned a spot on Billboard’s “21 Under 21,” and a nomination for Push Performance of the Year at MTV’s VMA’s, in addition to live sets at Milwaukee’s Summerfest and the When We Were Young festival in Vegas.  While the 2,500-capacity Fillmore is far from “intimate,” it might just be the most intimate chance we have to see Barrett in the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection, so I would suggest getting your tickets (which are currently going for $34.50) ASAP!
