Show Me The Body and Scowl at Union Transfer

Scowl opens for Show Me The Body at UT on 2/9.

Santa Cruz hardcore punk band, Scowl, was one of many openers for Show Me The Body on February 9th. This was only Scowl’s second time playing in Philly and they absolutely crushed it. Their debut album, How Flowers Grow, was released in November of 2021 and really put them on the map in the hardcore scene. I’ve been following them pretty much since the beginning and it’s been so cool to see them grow and play massive venues – like Madison Square Garden, opening for Limp Bizkit in May 2022.

NYC hardcore/noise punk band, Show Me The Body, kicked off their headline tour at Union Transfer. The band played songs from their latest album release, Trouble The Water, as well as fan favorites from previous records. This was my third time seeing them play and I’m happy to have finally been able to take photos without fear of my expensive digital camera being destroyed by the moshing crowd, as UT has a photo pit separate from the audience.

I'm a portrait and music photographer originally from Baltimore, Maryland, but recently relocated to Philadelphia in July 2022. I've been shooting a variety of subjects for about 8 years and I love working with bright colors. I listen to a lot of music genres but I find myself listening to post-punk, noise punk, shoegaze, indie rock, and pop the most!
