This Friday one of Coachella’s most impressive sets (at least according to the seven songs that appeared on the livestream) came from experimental R&B singer/songwriter Raveena.  The Indian artist (who grew up on America’s East Coast) released her sophomore album, Asha’s Awakening, earlier this year.  The LP is, “a 15-track concept album that tells the riveting tale of a space princess from ancient Punjab who, through a fantastic journey across the centuries, learns about love and loss, healing and destruction.”  The album’s latest single, “Secrets” is a hyper-sensual jam, featuring Vince Staples, which has an equally enticing music video that you can see below.  Her Friday performance in Indio, California, was the first date of Raveena’s current US tour, which will bring her to The Foundry at The Fillmore on May 12th, for one of the jaunt’s most intimate dates (The next night she headlines 9:30 Club, which is more than double the size.)  Get your tickets while you can!
