A year ago, today, I was in emergency surgery at Hahnemann University Hospital to repair a triple compound tib/fib fracture that I received after getting smashed up by some lady’s van at 6th and Spring Garden streets. (I was biking on the green, just so you know, and I have a witness.) I spent 4 days in the hospital, and 2 months laying on my parent’s couch (mostly watching those Real Housewives shows.)

I’m much better now, my leg still swells from time to time, but it rarely ever cramps or hurts. It’s still numb however, from all the nerve damage, and it looks like it’ll stay that way, but I’ve gotten used to it.

I still haven’t gotten back on a bike, but I think that I will soon.

My $185,000 hospital bill did get reduced, although I still don’t know the final tally of what I’ll owe. Funny how slow lawyers work when they realize how little they’re going to get paid.

I can’t believe it’s only been a year. It feels like a million years ago, now. Huh.

Anyway, thanks for all those people who came out to my benefit. It helped out TREMENDOUSLY, thank you!!

TTLY, Conrad
