Last week UK pop phenom Griff and Norwegian electropop chanteuse Sigrid released the most uplifting jam 2022 has had yet, “Head on Fire.”  The collaboration began when the two shared a pizza at the Reuben Selby show at Fashion Week in London and quickly started bonding over life as emerging female pop stars.  And the romanticism found in the song is nearly as magically cinematic as the meeting that begat it.  According to Sigrid, “It’s about that feeling when you meet someone who just flips everything upside down and you can’t focus on anything else but that person.”  The song itself embodies an explosive passion that would perfectly suit it to soundtrack the climax of the finale of any Netflix series about a bravely vulnerable young girl finding her way in the arts (Imagine her running through a rainy New York City to her newly realized true love.)

While we likely won’t see Griff and Sigrid bring the song to life in a live setting until something like an award show (possibly the BRITs, where just last year Griff won the “Rising Star” award), Griff just kicked off her nearly-sold-out, first-ever US headlining tour Monday in NYC and will be at The Foundry at The Fillmore this Saturday, January 29th.  She’s touring behind her debut mixtape, One Foot in Front of the Other, which hit shelves last June, reached number 4 on the UK album charts, and spawned hit single “Black Hole,” which earned her live performances on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Late Night With Seth Meyers, and Later… With Jools Holland.  There seem to be a small handful of tickets remaining to Griff’s show this Saturday at The Foundry, so I would highly recommend picking them up ASAP (You can do so below.) and, in the meantime, checking out her and Sigrid’s official music video for “Head on Fire.”
