Our old phriends Magdalena Bay are gearing up for their third local headlining show this year, and their somehow “most intimate” yet, playing the 2,500 capacity Fillmore next Sunday, October 26th.  However, we’re just as excited to see LA-based, marine-inspired Oxis, whos’s been opening the Imaginal Mystery Tour for the synth-pop savants since late September.  Oxis – an ode to marine electronica and celebration of the polarities of teenage emotions — began in 2023, but has already produced seven full-length projects, and came to life in a live setting when Julian Casablancas asked her to open New York and LA shows for him in 2024.  Oxis 7 was released this June, followed by the Sardine Tin covers EP in July, and most recent single, “Fry,” which dropped last month… and, apparently, the next project is set to drop this winter.  Get your tickets for October 26th at The Fillmore below and check out Oxis’ recent Medium Sized Backyard session, courtesy of Pigeons and Planes, who featured her on their Best New Artists list earlier this year.
