7/20 Tonight the good folks at R5 Productions and WKDU have another rad lineup at Johnny Brenda’s. Deer Tick and Wye Oak will be teaming up to present a night of honest-to-goodness sentimental rock n’ roll. Don’t get me wrong, I like Deer Tick, and I always enjoy John McCauley’s drunken stage antics, but I love me some Wye Oak. I’m kind of addicted to their latest EP, My Neighbor/My Creator. This EP is impossible to multitask to; it demands all your attention. I distinctly remember pressing play while trying to clean my kitchen. Fifteen seconds later I was sitting on my not-so-clean floor taking in the booming dynamics of Jenn Wasner’s voice and guitar. Three plays and an hour later, I resumed my cleaning. Get your tickets here and see for yourself. As always, this is a 21+ event.
