We first met soulful, synthy, alt-pop chanteuse VÉRITÉ last May, prior to a headlining performance at Boot & Saddle, which would leave those of us in attendance believing that there’s no way the songstress (Kelsey Byrne) wouldn’t be massive in the very near future… Since then she’s played shows supporting Marian Hill and Betty Who at Union Transfer, and released her debut LP, Somewhere in Between, this June (Read our April chat in preparation of her last Philly stop.)  Well, tonight she kicks off a monthlong batch of headlining dates with a super-sold out show at Boot & Saddle.  And opening the entire tour is the equally enchanting alt-pop Aussies, Tigertown.  Tigertown is a family band, comprised of husband-and-wife Chris and Charlie Collins (on lead guitar and vocals) and siblings Elodie and Alexi Collins on bass and keys.  The band is really the perfect pairing for Ms. Byrne, blending whimsically ethereal sunshine pop with uproariously uplifting pop gospels.  Tigertown has already released several EPs; toured with the likes of Tove Lo, Panic! At the Disco, and MS MR; remixed BØRNS, Grouplove and Crystal Fighters; and I’m guessing will be at VÉRITÉ’s current US status in about a year-and-a-half’s time.  They are currently working on completing their first full-length and last week they released an acoustic rendition of their latest single, “Warriors,” which, honestly, sounds like some of the best folk pop to come off of the stage of Lilith Fair in the mid’90s.  Have a listen below and, for those of you who got on getting tickets early for the show, make sure to be there at 8:30 to catch their set.
