It hasn’t been long since The City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection has heard from This Is The Kit.  Just last December the Paris-residing folk songstress (Kate Stables) opened the Kimmel Center for The National, as a quick follow-up to a headlining date at Johnny Brenda’s in late October.  At the time, she was touring behind her fourth LP (and first for Rough Trade), Moonshine Freeze.  This March This Is The Kit released Moonshine First Goes, a four-track EP, consisting of acoustic first takes of songs from Moonshine Freeze, and Kate has been on the road since early April, on a tour that goes into October. Although the vast majority of dates are taking place in Europe (including a profound plethora of major festivals), This Is The Kit are currently in the middle of a small run of US dates, which will have them returning to Johnny Brenda’s this Saturday, May 26th.  I would highly recommend coming out to the show and, in the meantime, check out “Bullet Proof” from This Is The Kit’s recent KEXP live session, and read my chat with Kate Stables from last October.
