Funny fact about Healthcare reform… The GOP sponsored single-payer Healthcare in Iraq, but won’t back the same in the US:

“Article 31 of the Iraqi Constitution, drafted by the Bush administration in 2005 and ratified by the Iraqi people, includes state-guaranteed (single-payer) Healthcare for life for every Iraqi citizen.” [Current]

In President Obama’s speech last night he began to explain why a single-payer option, like the one in Canada (and Iraq), would not be a good idea. I didn’t really understand his reasoning though. Something about how it is “A radical shift that would disrupt the Healthcare most people currently have.” (Actually the quote, I replayed it 3 times.) And something about “If it’s not all broke, don’t fix all of it.” (A less accurate quote.)

Um… Isn’t that why such a large majority voted for you?! To CHANGE some shit?!?!

Even if Obama was trying to make a point, it didn’t come across. This was CNN.com’s homepage at around noon today, less than 12 hours after his speech…

Ellen DeGeneres, American Idol, Chris Brown, Oprah and Jon Gosselin all seem to take precedent over the Healthcare crisis. And on CNN.com. Not Perez, not TMZ… On CNN.com, the day after the President gave a speech on a crisis in America. Hhhmmm… I wonder how many pharmaceuticals companies advertise on CNN?

In fact the only significant mention of the speech was about the Representative from South Carolina who shouted “You lie” during it… Um, where were these people when Bush was dragging us kicking-and-screaming into Iraq?!

Fun side note. I just double checked CNN.com for the spelling of Gosselin, and their “Live now” bar asked if your are going to buy a new iPod…

Really, CNN?! Really?!?!

I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!!
