I’m hoping many of our readers are more than a little excited for Synth-Rock innovator and legend Gary Numan to take the stage of our very favorite mega-venue (Union Transfer) this Wednesday, December 6th, armed with his recently-released, twenty-first studio album, Savage (Songs from a Broken World).  However, I would also hope that those of you with such taste are still getting excited about newer incarnations of those sounds.  Opening the show are NYC’s Me Not You, a brand new project that we first met this Spring, as they were preparing to play their very first shows (including a stop at MilkBoy).  Me Not You arose from the ashes of Little Daylight and feature two of the previous band’s three members, Eric Zeiler and Nikki Taylor.  While Little Daylight remained on the more playful side of alt pop, Me Not You rock a grittier style. This September they released their first EP, Reckoning 1, which resembles the synthier and dancier side of ‘90s alt rock, drawing comparisons to Garbage and Republica.  This May I had an extensive chat with Eric about the thus-far brief history of Me Not You, which you can read here.  For those of you with tickets to Wednesday’s show, make sure to get there early for their set at 8:30.  And whether or not you can make it out, make sure to check out their official video for “Relief” below.
