This Friday, September 30th, legendary LA rockers L7 will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their third LP and grunge masterpiece Bricks Are Heavy with a limited-edition reissue on gold and black vinyl, courtesy of Licorice Pizza Records.  Although the album was never officially certified gold, the band, along with producer Butch Vig, have honorarily certified it with such status… as it more-than-deserves.  “I mean, we thought the record was close to ‘going Gold’ 30 years ago…  To hell with it, we’re certifying the record ‘Gold’ ourselves and making gold vinyl for the reissue. Get ‘em while they’re hot, before we’re sued by the RIAA,” says always-snarky guitarist/vocalist Donita Sparks.

Additionally, the seminal, all-female quartet will be kicking off a tour to celebrate the anniversary of the album October 3rd in Nashville, including an October 10th stop at our very own Union Transfer.  The shows will see L7 preforming Bricks Are Heavy in its entirety, along with some of the band’s personal favorites.  Each show will offer a VIP PACKAGE, which includes soundcheck access for one song, a Q&A with the band, commemorative VIP laminate, signed tour poster, custom tote, beanie, sticker, and more, with a portion of proceeds going to women’s healthcare clinic Hey Jane.  Get your tickets below, and watch Donita present Butch with his offi… errr, commemorative Gold record.
