This Friday, April 7th, will see the release of Warm Blanket, the fourth full-length from Worriers, the musical outlet of LA-based punk rock singer/songwriter and visual artist Lauren Denitzio, who recorded and mixed the record entirely on their own, despite no proper training in audio recording.  The album, which comes courtesy of Ernest Jenning Record Co., is the first Worriers LP to have Denitzio fully-embracing the band as a solo project and, in turn, saw them exploring sounds largely new to Worriers, most notably a greater warmth and a willingness to indulge in electronics.  Tonight Worriers’ brand new touring lineup — Atom Willard (drums), Philly’s own Dominic Angelella (bass), and Frank Piegaro (guitar) – kick off a run of tour dates at Comet Ping Pong in DC, and Thursday, 4/6, they will be playing our very own Johnny Brenda’s, alongside our friends in Lizdelise, who are supporting on all dates.  Get your tickets below to hear a live preview of Warm Blanket, check out the video for recent single, “Never Quite Kicks In,” and read my chat with Lauren Denitzio all the way back from 2014, when Worriers played upstairs at Kung Fu Necktie.

During the day Izzy Cihak teaches transgression, subversion, and revolution at Temple University. At night he haunts Philthy's best venues to cover worthwhile acts for Philthy Mag. Morrissey is everything to him and, in their own heads, all of his friends see themselves as Zooey Deschanel.
