COIN are at the intersection of two of our favorite things in the world of music right now: they’re based out of Nashville and they share a distinct and keen appreciation for ‘90s alt rock. However, they’re not churning out the gritty punky country or country punk of so many of our favorite Nashville natives, nor are they composing songs reminiscent of what could essentially be a Kim Deal tribute band. The sound of COIN is more that of glossy and synthy sunshine alt pop, perfect for summertime romps with friends or lovers… It’s very cinematic and will likely convince you that whatever adventure you’re running to is profoundly significant and being watched very closely by someone or something that ultimately matters… COIN released their self-titled debut last month and proceeded to hit the road with Betty Who for the next month. They’re currently nearing the end of a month of dates supporting Neon Trees and they’ll be at our very own Theatre of Living Arts tonight, so if you’re a fan of Neon Trees, or just looking for your new favorite band, make sure to get there early. Before the show check out their music video for “Run.”
