Indie rock singer/songwriter Bartees Strange has already made a major splash in the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection this year, with an April show supporting Car Seat Headrest at Franklin Music Hall and a September appearance at WXPN’s XPoNential Music Festival in Camden. However, the DC-based musician is currently on his first-ever headlining tour and has a nearly-sold-out show this Friday, November 18th, at The Foundry at The Fillmore. This June 4AD released Bartees Strange’s second LP, Farm To Table, which prompted Rolling Stone – in a 4.5-star review – to call him, “One of the most riveting voices in rock and beyond,” and Pitchfork to proclaim, “Only a fool would doubt him.” Although his show this Friday isn’t yet sold-out, The Foundry’s website warns that tickets are, “running low,” so I would highly recommend getting them while you can. I would also recommend getting there early, as support duties are being handled by neo-grunge phenoms Pom Pom Squad and buzzy rockers Spring Silver, both of whom are well worth checking out.
