6/17 Thursday brings another chance to see a group of Sub Pop-ians(?) The Keystone State’s Pissed Jeans will be headlining Johnny Brenda’s stage for a night of scuzz-filled punk rock and what I’m sure can only be defined as debauchery. If you haven’t already heard any of Pissed Jeans’ three albums, and you’re grumpy, give any of their releases a listen and let some of that bad mood out. This shit is simple, but dense.. I love it. Joining Pissed Jeans will be Eddy Current Suppression Ring and Pop. 1280. [Get tickets here.]

And don’t forget, Been There Done That’s benefit for the National Wildlife Federation to aid in rescuing, cleaning and rehabilitating the devastated animals of the Golf Coast. Medusa Lounge (21st and Chestnut), no money at the door, give what you can.

(The Golden Filter, “Solid Gold”)

6/19 Kungfu Necktie hosts blogosphere favorite The Golden Filter on Saturday night. After pumping out remixes for Peter Bjorn and John, Little Boots, and Cut Copy, this duo has made quite the name for themselves in the disco-pop realm. Catch them at The Necktie with The Hundred in the Hands for 10 bucks. [Get tickets here.]

Rest up, kids. There are going to be a lot of things you need to see and hear within the next two weeks. Wavves and Cloud Nothings and Double Dagger… oh my!
