8/25 A Place To Bury Strangers will be playing Rittenhouse Square Park tonight with Philadelphia’s own Drink Up Buttercup. This free show presented by Philadelphia Weekly was rained out last week, and as of now it doesn’t look like the weather is going to cooperate tonight either, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed. As R5’s newsletter so eloquently said, “grab some friends or family and a blanket and head down there to watch lots of rich folks’ sidewalk dining get ruined when A Place To Bury Strangers play across from Parc.”

Danger Danger Gallery will be getting a little out of control this week. With shows on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday night, the bills seem to keep getting better and better. Hot Guts and Ed Schrader in the same week? My heart eardrums might explode.

8/25 Holy hip hop. Tourmates Flesh Epic and Rap Dragons team up with Teenage Souls this Wednesday night at Danger Danger Gallery. I recommend visiting LTD COMP for a free download of Rap Dragons’ Featuring Baltimore mixtape. Each of the 16 tracks samples a different Baltimore-based artist including Weekends, Ponytail, The Art Department, and Future Islands.

8/26 The following night, which just so happens to be my birthday (hint hint) has an even stronger lineup. Philadelphia welcomes a few more Charm city folk when The Art Department and Ed Schrader join forces with our city’s own TJ Kong & The Atomic Bomb. Hopefully you have all seen the coverage of Conrad’s recent Phrequency Flash Concert with the boys of TJ Kong & The Atomic Bomb. Perhaps, some of you were even lucky enough to catch this live. If not, check out Conrad’s video over at Phrequency. The band performed for a small crowd of blog raders, Twitter followers, and Septa customers inside a Broad Street Line car from Pattison to Fern Rock and back again. Click the photos below to see them (and more) on Conrad’s Flickr.

8/27 Rounding off this Danger Danger trio will be Pissed Jeans, Unnatural Helpers, and Hot Guts. I’ll have more on this show later this week, as my wireless internet has punked out and I’m finishing this post from my phone. Not fun.
