I’m sure by now you have all heard about the recent uproar over a decision to re-name the “Christmas Village” shopping bazaar, sprawled out in Dilworth plaza in front of City Hall, a more inclusively titled “Holiday Village.” I’m sure you’ve also heard that due to an over-whelming backlash, just yesterday the mayor ordered the return of the seasonal shopping nook’s name back to “Christmas Village.” This, I have decided, is all so retarded. Where was this fast acting mayor when the vast majority of Philadelphians opposed the building of Sugar House casino?
Well yesterday, Mayor Nutter took to his Facebook page to regale his loyal subjects with the news of his mighty re-naming decision. Annoyed and quite frankly disapointed by the comments to his post, I decided to say something:
