Citigroup Was All Like, “We Bought A $50M Jet Yo”… Then Obama Was All, “Oh No U Did Not, Take That Shit Back!!!”

In 2008 the Federal government took $2,700.74 out of my pay check. I filed my taxes yesterday and learned that I will receive $938 of that back in a tax return… I guess the other $1,762.74 went to buy Citigroup some lunch on their brand new $50,000,000 jet!

“Citigroup, which has received $45 billion in government bailout funds, is about to upgrade to a new $50 million, twelve-seat corporate jet.” [Huffington Post]

When I first heard abt this I thought I was going to explode… How can the men who were so bad at their jobs that they ran their company into the ground, receive $45 billion in taxpayer’s money, then buy a brand new $50 million jet, in the same country where I was fired from Old Navy when I was 16 (making $6.85/hr non the less) for being late 3 times in one month?

Is this trickle-down-economics, reverse-Robin-Hood shit rlly the bold new face of Capitalism? Because if so, I’d say worry not abt the bleeding heart liberals (who just want some fucking health care) for the oncoming influenza of socialistic ideals dreamed up by the ever growing and ever suffering lower middle class, and begin placing the blame squarely on these corporate pigs and their corrupt politicians.

No matter how apathetic the ppl of this country may have been to this sort of thievery in the past, this is different. At a time when everyone in our nation is asked to sacrifice. Pensions are lost. People can’t get loans for housing. Students can’t afford school. I can only afford PBR when I go out. Millionaires are receiving a pat on the back and an, “Attaboy, things will get better. Look, here’s a brand new jet!”

… Well, almost. Just as I was writing this post…

“Officials of the Obama administration called Citigroup about the company’s new $50 million corporate jet and told execs to “fix it.” The high-flying execs at Citigroup caved under pressure from President Obama and decided today to abandon plans for a luxurious new $50 million corporate jet.” [Huffington Post]

Wow. I’m actually kinda speechless. First Gitmo, now this. Seems like, so far, Obama is keeping his word. Huh.

I still haven’t forgotten that he voted for the bailout, but… Huh. Ok.

TTLY, Conrad

P.s. I still meant what I said. Just give us a reason corporate America.
